From March 6 to 8, 2017, the 82nd SCEJ (Society of Chemical Engineers, Japan) Annual Meeting was held at Shibaura Institute of Technology in Tokyo, where Professor Akihisa Shioi of the Faculty of Science and Engineering received the SCEJ Award for Outstanding Research Achievement (Tamaoki-Akiyoshi Award).
For more than two decades, Professor Shioi has been engaged in research on nonequilibrium phenomena, a subject that, before Shioi’s work, had received little attention from researchers in the field of chemical engineering. Five articles, which included some of Professor Shioi’s research findings at Doshisha University, were highly regarded by the award’s judging panel.
