Research Topics

To identify biomarkers useful for primary prevention of lifestyle-related diseases, we conduct comprehensive protein analyses on blood samples, in cooperation with Kyoto Prefectural University of Medicine, using animal models with lifestyle-related diseases (i.e., model mice with diabetes, diabetic nephropathy, accelerated arteriosclerosis, etc.). Furthermore, we use these mice to investigate the preventive effects of Chinese medicines, various drugs, and functional foods on lifestyle-related diseases.
