Research Topics
Most humans, as they age, produce aging-related lesions, such as senile plaques and neurofibrillary changes, in their brains. These lesions become dense and cause Alzheimer's disease. Senile plaques consist of β-protein and neurofibrillary changes are caused by τ (tau) protein. We will conduct our research, focusing on τ-protein and γ-secretase that produces β-protein, and explore biomarkers of Alzheimer's disease in the near future.
